Half a kilogram of heroin concealed in a loaf of bread and another kilo of the drug were found in a safe in a house in Cape Town.

Police spokesman FC van Wyk said police launched an undercover operation on Monday after the Flying Squad had arrested a 40-year-old man in possession of heroin.
“They found about 500 grams of heroin concealed in a loaf of bread. As the investigation continued, they went to his residential address where they searched his apartment for more drugs.
“They found about a kilogram of heroin in his safe,” Van Wyk said.
The drugs had an estimated street value of R320 000.
The suspect would appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court today, he said.
